It would be helpful to know where transfer points are and which buses stop at which points.

  2. admin Says:

Nancy, on the Routes page, check out the Weekday Schedules and the Saturday Schedules files. These tell which buses stop where.

  3. john Gilbert Says:

I found the maps. I can’t find the schedule. I’m not anxious to stand and wait when it’s cold.

    Thank you

    John Gilbert

  4. admin Says:

    John,

For now, please refer to the pages in the Routes section called Weekday Schedules or Saturday schedules. Soon, each new schedule will be paired with its route.

It would be nice if Topeka-Transit can install Bus Shelter’s along the bus routes so the rider’s can get out of the cold and the wind. If not the I think that Topeka-Transit can put Bus Bench’s. As far as the new schedule’s, in my opinion I like it how it was. Because I was late to work on the first day that the new routes went into effect.

The new schedlue sucks, I waited 45 minutes for the 8:15am west 17th at 13th and Topeka trying to get to Walmart west. Then I have to take two buses to get back to 13 and Topeka. The inbound west 17th needs to go to walmart west, then head in. Never did see the inbound west 17th while standing out there from 8:15am until 9:am this morning. The 11:15am west 17th left about 11am. How are we supposed to get anywhere on time when buses are not running on schedule??? This new schedule has made things much worse for me, may buy a vehicle and quit the buses.

It would be great for someone to develop some kind of software to put on this website kind of like map quest but to connect someone on the best route they should take to get form point A to point B. For example type in where and when you want to be picked up and where and when you want to go; then automatically the software would tell you which bus stop to be at and when.

Consider stating the actual address or a precise location on the schedules in stead of just saying “Tyler Towers”.

Why do we have city busses running down Mulvane Street from 12th and 10th? Washburn is built for two lane traffic and is a mere two blocks to the east. Our blocks have cars parked on both sides of the street. We have an elementary school and a very active church on this route. Don’t tell me that you are planning to put a bus stand at the corner of Munson and Mulvane. Who is being well served by this arrangement? This needs to be changed.

  9. Chad Conley Says:

I am very pleased with the recent changes. I can tell you are making an effort to ensure Topeka maintains a quality bus service that will serve the needs of many. I like how you have creatively managed to still provide service in both directions along major routes, even though the route name may be different. It has increased the number of destinations one can reach without a transfer. Topeka has one of the best transit systems when compared to cities of equal size. I really applaud everyone’s hard work.

I was totally confused this morning trying to catch a bus, (west 10th),from the library to work across from Walgreens. I saw west 10th coming down washburn and finally I saw west 21st coming down 10th. I boarded the west 21st bus only to discover that it doesnt go all the way down 10th but turns on another street. I ended up walking two blocks and finally made it to work. Why name these buses after streets that are only partially serviced? Under the new bus routes I have to take a bus all the way downtown and transfer instead of taking a bus 4 blocks down the same street like I used to.

i think there needs to be a bus that gose to 29th and urish because theres alot of dr. offices out there and i know alot of people that cant get to there appoinment because the bus dont go that far on the reguler route

  12. tom roth Says:

None of this route information fits the new schedule if you you at the description of West 21st, it is still a description of the old route, this bus no longer turn north on Washburn from 21, but goes to Kansas Ave, you are giving complete wrong information, also, there is no time schedule for anyone to know when a bus stop anywhere, you didn’t plan well for this, no wounder, no one can get you on the phone!! There is too much bad information here, and you have nothing on the web site about the new evening weekend schedule.

  13. shelly Says:

    Mr. Roth:

Thank you for contacting us regarding the problem you were having with the Routes page. There are two different places on the site to view the routes and we had one corrected and unfortunately, the other one was not. So we thank you for bringing that to our attention. Let us know if you continue to have problems viewing the time schedules and route maps. We will add the new route descriptions at a later date.

For information on the Evening and Sunday Service, please click the October 3rd “Public Notice” at the bottom of the Home page. We will be adding additional information regarding the Hours of Operation very soon.

  14. David Ball Says:

i wish the buses would go back to the way it use to be i don’t like the way the buses run and i wish the buses could run evry half an hour for the people don’t live near the work so they could get to work on time and that would be the same way for the doctors. please go back to the way the buses use to run and make it easier for everyone

  15. Frank DeNinno Says:

I used to be able to figure out which bus was which, but now that they are colored routes, I am totally lost. I had to go to Cox communications last week, and was only told to get on the ‘green’ bus. I ended up having to transfer 2 additional times just to get to where I was heading. Why all the confusion?
