The health and safety of the community and Topeka Metro’s employees and our passengers are our top priority. Topeka Metro has been in full compliance of Shawnee County’s mask-wearing directive as of its effective date of July 29, 2020 and continue to adhere to previous directives issued. Masks are available on all Topeka Metro buses.

Topeka Metro will continue to monitor and implement safety protocols and recommendations as directed by the Governor, public health authorities, and local leaders to ensure the safety and well-being of our employees, our customers, and our community.

It is possible that the Covid-19 pandemic could result in multiple Topeka Metro bus operators being unable to work at any given time. In the event that Topeka Metro were to experience a critical bus operator shortage, service reductions may become necessary.

November 4, 2020 — Topeka Metro reports that a bus operator and a worker at QSS have tested positive for COVID-19 and will be isolated from work in full compliance with Shawnee County Health Department guidelines.

Topeka Metro continues to follow recommendations of Shawnee County, the State of Kansas and the CDC, including requiring face masks, encouraging social distancing and regularly cleaning and sanitizing our buses.

The welfare of our customers and employees remains Topeka Metro’s top priority, doing everything we can to provide safe, courteous, and reliable service to our community and a healthy work environment for our employees.

USD 501 Topeka Metro Bus Passes

Parents and students: Did you know that high school and middle school students in USD 501 can obtain a FREE Topeka Metro bus pass from their school office?

USD 501 has purchased Topeka Metro bus passes for students in the district. If a student wants a pass, they must visit their school’s main office to obtain one. Students must show the bus pass when boarding. Passes are good throughout the school year at any time the fixed route buses are running. (Note: French and Jardine Middle schools are not included because of distance away from bus routes and in an industrial area).
